Waza FC U12 Boys Gold Wins WSSL Spring 2006 U12 Division
2 (9-0-1) and MCL Spring 2006 U12 Silver Division
(8-0-2)! Waza Gold ended their Inaugural season in
style by going undefeated and winning both leagues that
they participated in this Spring season
The Gold Team's winning ways
started in the Fall season when they won the WSSL Fall
Division 3 Championship (10-0-0).
Tournaments were another
high point . This group of boys won the first tournament
they entered (the American Cup -Cincinnati) in the fall
. They also were the Regional Champs in the Indoor
National tournament and then won Indoor National
Tournament in the U12 Division 2 . This is the first
time a Waza FC Youth team has won the Indoor Nationals.
This Spring the boys also
took first place in the Midland Spring Invitational
tournament
This team is looking forward
to playing in the U13 age bracket next year and in the
11 v 11 format

Futsal Championship in
Grand Rapids on March 11, 2006. Congratulations Boys!

The origin of Futsal can be traced back to Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1930
when Juan Carlos Ceriani devised a five-a-side version of soccer for
youth competition in YMCAs.
The game is played on basketball-sized courts, both indoors and out
without the use of sidewalls. The term FUTSAL is the international term
used for the game. It is derived from the Spanish or Portuguese word for
"soccer", FUTbol or FUTebol, and the French or Spanish word for
"indoor", SALon or SALa.

We are very proud of the girls winning the Second
Indoor session at Total Soccer, U10 BOYS division!!! They have also
won the National Regional Indoor and Second place in the Division 2
of WSSL. The girls will be playing in Division 1 in WSSL in the
Spring and also in the Michigan Champions League. We are very proud
of these young girls and wish them the best of luck in their
upcoming soccer seasons.

This was a important win for the U11 Boys Blue
team, as they beat a very good VardarStars team (ranked #2 in the state)
in the weather-impacted final. The score was 1-1 late in the first
half when the game was suspended due to lightning. After a lengthy
delay, the tournament directors implemented a Penalty Kick (PK) shootout
to determine the winner. Waza won 4-2!

Monday Sept 12th was the annual Elks Soccer Shoot
out.
Michael Pimlott took 1st in the U7 boys bracket,
Bryan Prudil took 1st in the U8&9 year old boy bracket
Nick Eastlake took 2nd in the U8&9 year old boy bracket.
