MSPSP Classic 3 Champions - U13 Girls
The U13 girls team were
the champions of the Classic 3 division of MSPSL (Premier) for Spring
2007. We went undefeated in 10 games with a record of 8-0-2. We scored a
total of 38 goals for vs. 3 goals against - more than doubling the
second place teams goal differential.

The Waza FC U12 Girls are
Champions of the 2007 Traverse City Cherry Cup, winning their 3rd Tournament
in 4 tries since September. Being short staffed that weekend, Waza FC East
provided three excellent additions to the team along with their supportive
parents
All the girls elevated
their game and won the tournament with tough team play, earning a true Waza
FC team victory.

Waza FC had 14
goals for and 4 goals against during preliminary play.
Semi Finals
against Red Arrow team gave Waza FC a 2 to 1 win. Red Arrows had not
been scored against during the entire tournament until Waza FC scored on
them.
Final game against
TKO gave the Waza FC team a 2-2 tie at the end of the regular time.
Following two 5 minute overtimes, the score was still 2-2. A shootout
concluded with Waza FC scoring 4 goals against TKO with only 3 goals
scored against. Final score with shootout: 6 Waza FC to 5 TKO.

The Waza U13
Girls team ended the Novi Jags tournament as the finalist in the U13
Girls Gold Division. We won all 3 of our preliminary games (GRASA
6-1, TNT Dynamite 4-2, and NMSC Stingrays 4-0) and the semi final
(Livonia Meteors 3-0). We even played our final game to a 0-0 tie
through regulation and 2 overtime periods. But, we lost to Livonia
United Premier on the penalty-kick shoot-out.

The U11 Girls team
was a finalist at last weekend's tournament. It was a close game, with
the our team losing 1-2, which isn't bad at all considering we had to
play short-handed for a majority of the game because a red card was
given to one of our players for a hand-ball in the box.

2007 Nike Cup Challenge – U13 Finalist
Waza Gold Places Second at the Nike Cup Tournament !!!
Waza 94 Gold had a very successful trip to the Columbus Ohio
area the weekend of April 28-29, 2007. The weather was pretty good for all of our
games.
Our team started out on Saturday with a 3-0 win over the host club Ohio FC.
Waza dominated the entire game. Great passing and teamwork was the key.
Our late afternoon game was against Dynamo FC and the boys kept up a great
offense and a great defense as well. The boys were rewarded with a 4-0 win.
Our two wins earned us first place in our group and the opportunity to play
in the semifinals. We took on a very tough and physical Indy Burn team. Our
boys went down 0-1 in the first half but a concentrated effort yielded a
2-1 win for Waza Gold.
ON TO THE FINALS AGAINST WVSC (West
Virginia Soccer Club). Waza Gold was excited to be in the finals.
The boys just could not seem to get things going and WVSC had us down 0-3
at halftime. Coach Dominic must have had a pretty good halftime talk
because almost immediately at the start of the second half Waza got one
goal back. Waza Gold fought hard and netted another goal to narrow the gap
to 2-3. The boys really put the pressure on and had a bunch of shots
on goal but none would go in. Final Score WVSC 3- Waza Gold 2
Great Soccer Waza Gold! We will be
back next year !!!!

Waza FC has huge success at first experience with
International Friendlies
The
"Waza FC Scotland Team", consisting of 11 players from the 95
Boys Blue, two players from the 94 Boys Gold, one player from the Novi Jags
95 Boys Green, (plus coach, parents and siblings; 47 people in all) just
returned from a 10 day trip to the United Kingdom where they played three
International Friendlies and watched two
professional games.
.
They
flew from Detroit to Manchester,
England, where they
watched an English Premier League game of Manchester City
vs. Charlton Athletic.
Then
they drove north into Scotland
to the city of Dumfries, in Galloway. There, our host club Queen of the South FC
(Scottish Football Division I professional), arranged three matches versus
local teams.
-
The first game was against Queen of the
South FC U12's. Waza
won 7-2.
-
The second game was against Greystone Rovers U13's.
Waza won 4-1.
-
The final game was against Queen of the
South FC U13's. Waza
won 2-1.
Then
at halftime of the Queen of the South FC's
professional game vs. Livingston, Waza won
a shootout competition.
This
was a fantastic experience for our boys (and families) and there is talk of
doing it again next year...

2007 3rd Session Indoor U13 Girls Champions X 2
The
U13 Girls Blue team capped off our indoor seasons with two championships.
We
won the 6v6 Boarded U14 Girls Division listed under the team name 'Hamburg F13'
with 7 wins and 1 loss.

The
U13 Boys Waza FC Combine team, composed of players from Waza East and
Waza West, competed in the National Indoor Soccer Championships in Sterling, Virginia
the weekend of Feb 17-18th, 2007. They won the championship with a record
of 3 wins and 1 tie. The boys played against teams from Maryland,
Washington D.C.,
Pennsylvania and Illinois. The boys qualified for the
nationals by winning the Indoor Regional's
at High Velocity in Canton
in the U-14 division. This win brings the Waza FC their first Division 1
Youth National Indoor Championship!!!

2007 Kick-It 3v3 World
Championships
5th Place in U8 Division
Congratulations to the Michigan JAMB
U8 boys. JAMB stands for the players first names: Jake,
Aidan, Michael, Bowden.
They recently placed 5th (out of 32 teams) at the 3v3 World Championships
in Orlando Florida. Their combined record for
the year was 19-1. In Florida they
played teams from Texas, Kentucky,
Missouri, Washington,
Arizona and Maryland.

Germantown, (near Memphis Tennessee) Invitational Tournament is the 12th
highest ranked tournament in the United States and our U16 Boys won the

2006 Mead Cup
U10 6v6 Five-Star Champions - 97 Boys Blue
The U10 Waza Boys Blue won the Mead Cup (a premier level tournament) 6v6
Five Star division over the Labor Day weekend. The first two
games they played teams from Kettering, Ohio and Louisville,
Kentucky, and earned the
maximum points allowed. The final game on Sunday night was a must
win, against a very good team from Lexington,
Kentucky. The Waza boys
prevailed with a 1-0 victory. On to the finals on Monday!!! We
played FC Pride from Indianapolis,
and after getting off to a 4-1 lead, were able to hold them off and win
4-3. Not bad for our first tournament and first games of the season!!

Kick It 3v3 Detroit Tournament
U12 Boys Competitive Champs - The Crew
5 Boys from the Waza U12 (U13)
team "The Crew" took home the Blue Ribbon for their first place
finish in the Kick-It National 3v3 tournament held July 15 - 16 in Detroit. The
Crew faced a tough bracket including Vardar Elite, Bloomfield Force and
Waza East. After receiving the #1 seed following bracket play The
Crew went on to defeat St. Clair Shores and
Neo Soccer (Cleveland) whom made the trip to Detroit to avenge their loss to The Crew
in last year's Buffalo Regional
Championship. The Crew beat Vardar
for the 2nd consecutive time in two days 5-4 in the Championship game after
trailing 3-1 at halftime.
This is the third consecutive year that The Crew
qualified for Regional's.
Last year The Crew swept the Buffalo Regional going 7-0 and qualified for
the 2nd year in a row to travel to Florida
for the National Championship.
